The Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (the PPIP Act) requires the Inspector to comply with the information privacy principles set out under the PPIP Act in respect of his administrative functions. The Inspector’s administrative activities concern the effective operation of his office and include information such as staff leave and budget management.

The PPIP Act requires that the Inspector has a Privacy Management Plan which details how the Inspector will deal with any privacy concerns which arise in the storage and collection of such information.
